I am of a very strong view that India as a nation has been in existense for the past 20 or more thousand of years. The reason why i believe so is because of the astronomical dates that are seen to have been mentioned throughout our ancient texts which should rightly be ancient Indian (Bharath) texts rather than as texts that belong to a certain religious sect. Many a times, if we keenly scrutinise many research outputs of the west, we will get to see that most of the works tend to be Europe centric or may include at least a very small part of Europe. The pattern has been quite outstanding since the time of the colonial in most of the works. The dating seems to be further influenced by the Biblical views of genesis. There has been hardly any independent work in this subject since the time the modern history became existent. There has been hardly any attempts to understand the ancient Indian (Bharath)culture from an Indian (Bharath) perspective. Our historians have been blindly following the westerners especially Germans who had done a rigorous and commendable work to make the world and even Indians believe that they should be thankful to their German forefathers for our wonderful culture.
It is indeed sad that the historians have for the past so many years fighting with each other---One side claims that Indians(Bharath) were the virtual gods from gandhar to Vietnam &&&& the other side claims that Indians were culturally very crude who had to be taught the basics of culture by some europeans or russians or that they were well cultured with there scientific knowledge originating in Greece but could not stand against a horde of untrained and barbarians who had very little resources and ultimately moved south which these people believe, was a no man's land till then. Both the theories don't seem fit by any measures of imagination to a person living on the common plane even when they suit the wildest imsginations of the present and past historians. The aryans must have actually been a group of clans that might have over the time grown culturally and scientifically ahead of most of their contemporaries. These clans could also might have been native to the southern part of India(Bharath). There could also have been sects which were then living a much less cultured life then as there are even now in the jungles of assam, kerala, jharkhand etc.Does this mean that every other person living in the city is from Europe.Since time immemorial we had been having clans that were at the extremes of human expertise. The best came to be known while the others continued with there humble existense.I don't believe that there has been much of a serious study about human origin and its possibilities in south india(Bharath). We must consider this seriously since this is one of the oldest landforms on earth that had been drifting over millions of years.I think there needs to be a greater emphasis on research on Indian(Bharath) history by Indians(Bharath) from an Indian(Bharath) point of view. The Indologists have been looking at India(Bharath)through the telescope whose foundation lies strongly embedded in the European soil.A change has to be there and it should better be at the earliest.Indians(Bharath) should take up the initiative to discover their true Bharath and teach it to the coming generations. The 2 great theories about Indian(Bharath) past seems to suit the ideologies of two classes. One are the Indian right wing(both hindu and muslims--the first teach ancient glory and the present downfall while the second teach differences between religious groups by making use of tghis theory.)groups and the second group are the pro-colonial whose thoughts rotate over the German-Greek-Central asian theory of Indian(Bharath)origin & growth(This theory helped the christian missionaries to a great extent to carry out converions on this land).
Every date in Indain(Bharath) history seems to have been put deliberately after the dates of developments in Greece.India(Bharath)seems to have been seconded everywhere. It arises from the prominent belief of the Europeans that the dark skinned people can never achieve a degree of exprtise as theirs. Many still live with this thought both in the west and here on our land. This has to change. It is a shame that we are still known to the world by a name that the Greeks gave us .
This too has to change and change for the good.
